 
 
 
A few photos from the basic rock climbing clinic at JBS Kangar.
Participants from Kelab Kembara MRSM Beseri Perlis of about 40 form-5 kiddos took their Satuday off by attending the interesting clinic. The instructors were Encik Din of JBS Kangar, along with few other staffs, assisted by 4 regular climbers.
I was there just to tag along. It was long ago since i hung up my Miura. Surely I missed clipping those runners. 
Those interested in rock/wall climbing some terms that might be usefull:
Equipment (Wall-climbing):
sit-harness, kernmantel rope, karabiner, figure-of-eight, quickdraw, tape sling, prussik line, Grigri, chalk-bag, rock-boot, magnesium-light-carbonat, fancy-sunglasses, Phrana shorts, Black Diamond belt.... Solomon slippers. Teva also can lah!...
Climbing-call :
"On belay", "Belay on!", "ready to climb", "climb lah!! it'ts hot already!!!", "Tight!", "Slack!", "FAAALLLLL...!!!!", "Off beley", "Belay off", "Medic pls!"...
Climbing technic/hand-grip/foot-holds :
Top-rope, leading, multi-pitch, bourdering. Pinching, under-cling, smearing, side-pull, twisting (or tanggo!), dyno, chimneying (like santa always do),
Know your Knot :
Bowline, Figure-of-eight, Clove-hitch, fisherman-knot, mountaineering-coil, alpine-coil, main-hentem, etc etc...
- Most Jab Belia & Sukan Negeri complex in every states utilized a climbing wall, with active climbing teams and climbers.
- In KL, at least there are 3 big climbing gym (outdoor and indoor), one of it is in SUMMT USJ.

I love climbing. I always do.
But since my knee injured way back in 1999 forced me to hung my boots (the loosen foot-hold twisted when I was on speed-climb training with some senior climbers). Not able to do the 'twisting' as I use to.
Still, I am encouraging friends and newbies to try it. It is full of fun, when you know how.
p/s: The words on the 'poster' were from a 'No Fear' poster that I bought in 1995. I gave it to a friend-climber as gift of hounour. Sorry folks, my Sportiva Miura is not for sale! So as my BlackDiamond belt! ( I got 2, thanks Syahiid!!!)
